You can make a sandbox of any desired shape; square, rectangular, circular, hexagonal, octagonal, or kidney shaped. Earlier, wood was used for sandbox, but one gets much better options today. Wood is prone to attack by pest and can also rot easily. A much better and cost effective alternative is to use plastic.  As it will not get damaged easily and will last a lifetime due to its non-decompose properties.

According to your preference and choice, one can get many colors and designs.  Out of wood, metal, the most versatile edging material that you get these days is plastic.  It is cheaper as well and thus making all the options to tilt towards choosing plastics as the best option when it comes to landscape edging.
